One of the issues I’ve been personally grappling with w/r/t the content of this website is just how much of my personal life I want to seep into the content I feature here.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be experimenting with posting more directly personal narratives (that hopefully readers besides myself will find funny), but it is my goal to maintain a balance on this site so that it doesn’t devolve into shameless self-absorption. Well, at least not any more than it already is.
The challenge will no doubt be difficult as my wife and I have a baby due in less than a month now and I’ve already determined that our daughter will be the smartest, funniest, most inspiring thing in the universe and as such, will want to figure prominently on the posts at WitCracker.
In the meantime, I’d like to debut a new series at WitCracker…TURKISMS.
[For those of you unaware, my wife is Turkish. Having grown up and spent the first twenty years of her life in Turkey, English is her second language. While her fluency far surpasses the vast majority of American-born English speakers I know of, that doesn’t mean the secondary nature of her English doesn’t slip through every now and then.]
